Arrangement by Michael Abene. Mysterious, somewhat melancholy, feature for soprano saxophone. This is a beautiful arrangement by Michael Abene, originally written for the Netherlands Metropole Orchestra, featuring a full big band. This is a separate orchestration for big band + soprano saxophone soloist. The chart is orchestrated so that the tenor 1 chair can be the soloist, or tenor 1 can play an ensemble part while a guest soloist plays the dedicated Solo Soprano part. Not a particularly difficult chart, but the presence of multiple doubles might make for some difficulty for high school ensembles. Trumpet range to concert high C.Soloists: long Soprano Saxophone feature, or can be split to include piano solo.Doubles: Alto 1 - flute. Alto 2 - soprano, flute. Tenor 1 - soprano, clarinet. Tenor 2 - soprano, clarinet. Trumpets 1-4 - all have flugelhorn in the parts. 5 saxes, or 5 saxes + Soprano Soloist/4/4/P/B/D/G. Medium Difficult.
