In diesem Buch wird das Fingerpicking, auch bekannt als Free Fingerstyle Technik, thematisiert. Den Ursprung dieses Stils findet man im nordamerikanischen Country, Ragtime und in der keltischen Volksmusik. Dieser Stil hat auch starken Einfluss auf die Popmusik.

In Liedern von u. a. den Beatles, aber auch von Singer-Songwritern wird dieser bewährte Gitarrenstil gerne verwendet. Im Country Stil muss selbstverständlich Chet Atkins erwähnt werden.

Mit diesem Buch will ich einen Anstoss geben, sich in diese Thematik zu vertiefen. Beginnend bei der Basis werden 30 Stücke und kleine Übungen behandelt. Um den Zugang zu vereinfachen, wird die Musik sowohl in Noten als auch in Form einer Tabulatur dargestellt.

Ausserdem werden auf der hinzugefügten CD alle up-tempo Stücke auch in einer langsameren Version gespielt.

Die Stücke wurden abwechselnd mit Nylon- und Stahlsaiten bezogenen Gitarren aufgenommen. Natürlich ist diese Wahl jedem selbst freigestellt.
