This driving shuffle original comes from a recent recording of the H2 Big Band entitled You're It! (Jazzed Media 1053). The band features the writing of Dave Hanson and is co-led by acclaimed jazz trumpeter Al Hood. As with all of Hanson's writing, this chart is imaginative, skillfully orchestrated, and harmonically unique. Alternating between '2' and '4' feels, this work provides improvised solo space for baritone sax, trumpet and trombone. This is truly great programming material for advancing jazz ensembles.
