. .. is based on two funk grooves; one medium-fast, reminiscent of Weather Report, and the other half time. The main theme is played in unison by soprano sax, tenor sax and harmon-muted trumpet. Modal tenor saxophone and trumpet solos are followed by a lengthy band tutti made up of dense chords against the drums and a sparse written bass line. The piece builds to a thunderous climactic vamp.
