An off-beat groovy modern/contemporary 4/4 composition featuring a duo-solo between trumpet 2 (on flugel horn) and alto 1. The piece also has a piano solo and an interesting development section. The piece begins with an unaccompanied horn choral soli ( i.e. with flugels, trombones, and saxes) then leads into a groovy rhythm section vamp before embarking on the head, solos, development section, etc. Top lead trumpet note is 'D'. This high-energy piece is very melodic in nature is an ideal set closer or opener. Instrumentation: Standard big band ( i.e. 2 altos, 2 tenors, 1 bari, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, guitar, piano, bass drums) works well for this piece however a few substitute and optional parts are included which include: Soprano sax part ( i.e. substitution for Alto 1). Soprano sax/Alto 1part combined ( i.e. using both instruments at various parts in the chart). Trumpet 5 part (optional). Vibes part (optional).
