Beschreibung:
Several years ago I heard a Scottish band play a lively set of reels accompanied by African percussion on what sounded very much like the classic Bo Diddley groove. This is original set of reels but I did appropriate the swinging Bo Diddley beat. After a fiery tutti unison statement of the first 8 bars, the head is played with a variety of orchestrations. For solos, the groove moves to a swing feel in the drums while keeping elements of the Bo Diddley accents from the original head. The solo changes invite a minor blues approach ('A') and a more modal style ('B' & 'C'). The culmination of each solo section is a 16-bar stop-time phrase that really lets the soloist wail. Solos for alto(or soprano), guitar (or piano), and drums. This is not an extremely difficult chart. A burning swing chart with a real twist. Trumpet to high E. Alto/Sop,A,T,T,T,4,4,Vibes,G,P,B,D. Medium Difficult.
