An intermediate level big band arrangement. Scored for five saxes (AATTB), four trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums. The trumpet range goes up to the G just above the treble staff. Northridge is a slow, bluesy, Basie style groove. Solos are in both the first tenor and second trumpet parts (choose one). Each part has both a written solo and chord changes. This piece was recorded by the Cal State University Northridge A jazz band for Music Minus One records and is available on the MMO CD is entitled Studio City. Medium.
