Sugar Train

This engaging, straight-ahead swinger for developing groups is dedicated to two tenor saxophone giants: Stanley Turrentine, whose biggest hit was Sugar, and John Coltrane, affectionately known as 'Trane.' Perfect as on opener, this chart contains flexible instrumentation to accommodate any young group - it is playable by as few as 9 pieces and is expandable all the way to a 17-piece big band and beyond, since optional flute, clarinet, horn in f, tuba, and vibes parts are also included! A guitar chord chart by Jim Greeson is included in each set. Duration ca. 3:10.
