This is a solo vehicle for an alto saxophonist that is not part of the sax section in somewhat of a concerto format, including cadenzas. It's in a medium 3/4 groove and has plenty of improvisaion space. This was inspired by the Michel Legrand/Phil Woods collaborations. The top note for the lead trumpet is a concert Eb. This has been recorded on a soon to be released Hawk-Richard Jazz Orchestra CD.
