The soloist plays the melody on flugelhorn over lightly but colorfully scored backgrounds, then improvises over the changes in single and double time. Later the soloist switches to trumpet and soars over the ensemble for an exciting climax. Written for 5 saxes, 8 brass, gtr, piano, bass and drums. Solo trumpet high note is a written E with an option for a double A. Medium.
