Winner of the 2010 Ithaca College Jazz Composition Contest, Transcen-dance is a colorful piece featuring tenor 1 and trumpet 2. The ensemble and tenor soloist take an exciting and mysterious journey until the tension is released with a feel-good funk section for the trumpet soloist to get his groove on. A fresh, fun, and challenging chart! Two versions are available: the original version with woodwind doubles (clarinet and bass clarinet) and a version without any woodwind doubling in the saxophone section. This is the no-doubles version.
