Beschreibung:
Theobald Böhm wurde 1816 erster Flötist des königlichen Isartortheaters, zwei Jahre später Mitglied der königlichen Hofkapelle seiner Geburtsstadt München und ab 1830 auch deren erster Flötist. Konzertreisen in mehrere europäische Städte begründeten seinen Ruf als einer der führenden Flötenvirtuosen. 1828 eröffnete er eine Flötenbauwerkstatt und revolutionierte den Flötenbau in zwei Schritten: Mit der konischen Ringklappenflöte von 1832 führte er das bis heute übliche Klappensystem ein und mit der akustisch berechneten Zylinderflöte von 1847 das bis heute nahezu unveränderte Instrument. Als Komponist schrieb er Werke, die die Flöte wie auch den Flötisten bestmöglich zur Geltung bringen. Plattennummer: 15040 / veröffentlicht 1857.
