Beschreibung:
Galli (1819-1889) wrote more than 400 works, almost all for flute, and a majority were fantasies and transcriptions of the most famous Italian music of the era: opera arias. This publication is a special rendering of the original Ricordi editions, published c. 1860. The solos for flute and piano contain a variety of styles ranging from the lyric to rapidly moving technical finales with duple and triple meters. Ideal for recital performance, each piece tests the expressive skills and ensemble abilities of the performers. --The Instrumentalist
This set of pieces based on opera themes is charming, sensitive, and more approachable than some of the more technically demanding pieces already in print. --Flute Talk
