The Fandango is an animated Spanish or Spanish-American courtship dance in triple meter performed by a man and a woman playing castanets. Throughout Flute Fandango, the castanets play a repeating two-measure pattern, over which the flute choir plays. This work was commissioned by Commissioned by the Flute Symphony of Lexington (KY), directed by Kristy Kirsh.
