Charles Colin (1832-1881), born into a musical family, studied oboe at the Paris Conservatory before becoming the oboe instructor himself in 1868. This solo, beautifully lyrical and technically challenging, was written as part of the conservatory curriculum. This edition was edited by Lucien Caillet.
