French composer, Pierre Ancelin (1934-2001) studied at the conservatories of Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, and later, under Olivier Messiaen at the Paris Conservatoire. His Scrubland is an exciting collection of five pieces for Oboeand Piano. Ancelin is particularly remembered for founding the National Union of Composers of Music, along with Jolivet, Lesuer and Sauguet.
