Beschreibung:
When Claude Rippas asked me to compose something for his trumpet ensemble, I was immediately fascinated by this unusual formation. I had the idea of using the five trumpets in such a way as to create a concertino in three movements for two concertante piccolo trumpets in A, accompanied by three trumpets in C. The first movement, 'Allegro' is framed by an 'Andante maestoso'. The second joins a lyric 'Andante' with a 'Presto' scherzo. This little piece finishes with a Rondo 'Allegro molto vivace', which displays all the virtuoso resources of the instruments.
