Swatch is a set of seven pieces for trumpet and piano, suitable for players who are tackling grades five to seven. It is, I hope, of interest to any player who enjoys a colourful adventure without too much danger. The titles come from the swatch of paint colours by Fired Earth, which I found evocative when applied to sound, rather than to a wall. Absinth refers to the colour rather than to the dangerously inebriating drink - otherwise I would have written a very different piece!
