It doesn't take long after the trumpets announce the military style melody to see that the work is 'like a march' in its sound and texture. However, an occasional three-two bar adds sparkle and interest whenever it arrives. Alla marcia can be programmed wherever you might use a more conventional march, but want something a little 'left of center.'
