Ancient Blessings' is a two movement work which features contrasting styles, highlighting the percussion and low brass sections. The 1st movement, Rite, is solemn and mysterious, while the 2nd movement, Wedding Dance, is a rousing and exotic dance Klezmer, jazz, and Gypsy elements. The movements can be performed separately. The 2nd movement, Wedding Dance, is a great closer for any concert. The work was commissioned by Kyle Glaser and East Strodsburg South High School in PA.
