Here is a beautiful piece with many moods to help your band learn to play with more character and feeling. The pensive introduction has a modal sound and is filled with lyrical melodies. The trombones enter brightly with the main melody and are joined by the ensemble to repeat this stirring tune which features changing meters and syncopation. Your percussion section will be busy playing a wide assortment of instruments. A slow section returns featuring the trumpets and flowing melodies in the flute. The work ends with a return to the main melody followed by a coda featuring pyramid chords.
