Beschreibung:
This march is a celebration of all the volunteer work that parents do in all the local school band communities around Norway, everything from being on the board of directors, to arranging flea markets and recruitment concerts.
The kids themselves are most probably not aware of this, but as an adult and conductor I have seen how much work are being done, only to feel they are doing the best for their children, and have them being involved in music. If I think back at the time when I played the tuba in Linderud skoles musikkorps many years ago, I remember it was the same then as now, although as a young boy I was not aware of it then. Volunteer work by parents, eager to see their children having fun and seeing the band grow, is an absolute must to successfully running a school band. Now as a composer, this is my way of acknowledging all this incredible effort.
