A drone is originally a military aviation term, which is used to indicate an unmanned aircraft. Drones are used for inspections, especially of buildings or impassable places, as a search tool for missing persons, a help with traffic accidents, or just to deliver a package. Of course they are remote controlled, sometimes from a distance of thousands of miles. More and more civilians are getting themselves a drone, just because it's a fun toy.
