Elegi was composed by the Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin in 1979 for the trumpet and organ in memory of his sister who died very young. The piece was performed at the funeral in the old Lom Stavkirke, where the composer himself played the trumpet.
About 25 years ago I made an arrangement for trumpet and brass band for this beautiful and for the composer very personal work. In close collaboration with the composer I have now arranged Elegi for the trumpet and Concert Band.
