This march was composed by Alain Crepin on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of a Belgian Army group (7eme Brigade Mecanisee de Marche en Famenne) at the request of the two Commanding Officers of this army group Colonels Babette and Mattart. The composition was inspired by Celtic traditions consisting of an ostinato rhythm and a bourdon in the lower-voice instruments. In the second theme the composer uses the antique minor mode. The second part (trio) creates a contrast to the first half by increasing the tempo and giving a lighter character to the music interlaced with trumpet fanfares.
