This composition is based on one of the oldest known Christian hymn tunes, with latin words made by Bishop Ambrosius (dead 397): 'Veni, redemptor gentium'. In 1523, Martin Luther made a German version, while Bernt St(o/ylen did the Norwegian words in 1905.
