Lyrics / Text: Götz Stoffregen; [DE]; Weshalb viele Marschfreunde stillschweigend unterstellen, dass ein 'richtiger Marsch' nur von einem Kapellemister oder Musiker in Uniform komponiert werden kann, ist im Grunde unverständlich, denn diese Annahme stimmt nämlich so ganz und gar nicht.; Das beweist nachdringlich der zündende Marsch 'Kameraden auf See' von Robert Küssel, der naturgemäß stets mit der Marine in Verbindung gebracht wird. Der aus Schlesien stammende Robert Küssel hatte nie etwas mit dem Militär zu tun, sondern war vor und nach dem Kriege in erster Linie ein gefragter Filmkomponist. Etliche Märsche von ihm haben sich erhalten, wobei 'Kameraden auf See' sein gefragtester Titel ist und der beliebteste Marinemarsch bei deutschen Musikkorps.;

The composer who hailed from the province of Silesia never had any contacts with the armed forces: he rather had primarly been a composer of soundtracks before and after the war. However, some of his marches survived with 'Kameraden auf See' being frequently performed. It is undoubtedly the most popular navy march with German military bands.;
