Beschreibung:
Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835) was one of the three great composers of the belcanto-era that dominated the Italian opera scene in the first half of the 19th century. 'La Sonnambula' is the first of Bellini's major opera's which was premiered in 1831 at the 'Teatro Carcano' in Milan. Italian arranger Filippo Cangiamila used one of the themes from the opera to conceive the 'Theme and Variation for Trombone' with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band. This arrangement is dedicated to Enzo Turriziani, principal trombone player of the 'Vienna Philharmonic' who also played the solo part at the premiere.
