This work was written at the request of Eugene Corporon for the UNT Wind Symphony's performance at the TMEA conference. The fanfare feature the fight songs and alma maters of eight prominent Texas universities. While none of the songs are directly quoted, melodic motifs from them form the basis of the composition.
