This rhapsody for concert band describes programmatically the period of history when knights fought bravely in suits of shining armour. The tournament was a time of fierce jousting for the favour of royalty as well as a duel of mortal combat. The music portrays this battle by showcasing the various instrumental sections, each fighting for attention with 'call and response' patterns. Each section of the band has its own moment of glory in this heroic concert work
