Simon Dobson composed his Clarion Alarum: Fanfare No.1 for Brass Band as his first piece following his appointment as composer-in-residence to the Leyland Band. The first performance of the work was given by The Leyland Band, conducted by Russell Gray, at the Regent Hall Brass Arts Festival on the 19th October 2007.
