Musical education has changed over the past few years, and the aim of the present book is to propose teaching material in accordance with the spirit of the new programmes to the letter. Six cross-disciplinary questions have been chosen for this book devoted to teaching in first form (6th grade US). From these questions six training paths ensue, and for each one, two proposals, problematized in different ways, are offered. The book is therefore made up of twelve complete teaching sequences. The programmes impose five major paths over the year. The book is thus thought out as an integral course in first-form musical education and can therefore be used for several consecutive years without resulting in a feeling of weariness. The book remains an area of pedagogical freedom, and every teacher can modify the proposals in keeping with his or her desires and needs whilst ensuring the coherence of the whole. This is why the pupil's book always contains blank spaces devoted to the problem and the targeted skills in the event that the latter should diverge from what was thought by the authors.
