From a miserly, uncaring old man, Ebenezer Scrooge is converted to generous good temper on the concert stage. Based on Charles Dickens' story, 'A Christmas Carol, ' Scrooge has been masterfully adapted for today, while still maintaining the flavor of the original story. The songs are arranged for 2-part treble chorus with an optional third part for changed or changing voices. Scrooge is loaded with musical variety, the songs rangingin style from a traditional English carol to a jazz waltz. The chorus remains in the pit throughout the performance, providing background for the solos and commenting on the action. Grade Level: 6-Adult. Perf. Time: Approx. 90minutes.
