Agnus Dei for women's choir (S.S.A.A.) was first performed in 1993 by the Choeur de Jade of Fribourg (Switzerland) in that city. It was during the period of war time in the former Yugoslavia, and I was shaken by the terrible destiny of women and children who became the spoils of war. I wanted to react in my way by composing an Agnus Dei in memory of these sacrificed lives, utilizing several latin texts from the liturgy.
It is a prayer, an appeal for the peace of souls.
