OrlandoGibbons (1583-1625) was an English composer, organist and chorister, who is one of the best known musicians from the Tudor period. He studied and sang in the choir at King's College, Cambridge, and later became Organist atthe Chapel Royal and Westminster Abbey. He is best remembered for his madrigals and anthems, such as The Silver Swan and Almighty And Everlasting God, as well as his settings of the evening canticles and hishymntunes.
