When this song was published in 1989, I immediately fell in love with it. Although this a cappella arrangement is not completely faithful to the original composition I suggest you get familiar with Pat Metheny's instrumental version first, in order to be able to enjoy and explore with your own sensitivity the subtle harmonic and rhythmical changes I included in my version. You can find it in his album 'Letter From Home'. The lyrics are extracted from Noa's version which you can find in her album 'Calling'. Although the arrangement 'wants' to be sung rubato, I strongly suggest you try to keep an underlying beat all through the song, while you might want to play with the tempo, slowing it down and/or accelerating here and there
