Born in Genoa, he studied piano, classical composition, jazz arranging and jazz singing. He is a founding member of the vocal group Cluster, considered one of Italy's best, as well as The Ghost Files, a studio project dedicated to original vocal music recording. Erik's work in the a cappella scene eventually let to nominations for more than 20 CARA Contemporary ACappella Recording - Awards and wins for 'Best Original Song', 'Best Jazz Arrangement' and 'Best Holiday album' to name a few.
