Beschreibung:
Many of the most beautiful melodies in history of music are written by Johann Sebastian Bach. He, like many other composers, has used the theme of Arioso in several works he wrote. With some variations, Bach's Adagio from harpsichord concerto no. 5 and Arioso from cantata no. 156 'Ich steh`mit einem Fuss im Grabe' are almost identical. This arrangement is based on the second movement from the harpsichord concerto in F minor.
The accompaniment is very simple and fragile, while the solo part has its challenges. This makes the music well suited as a flexible arrangement with an optional soloist. It does not come with a 'super part' in this arrangement so as not to 'overtake' the soloist. The solo part is written ornamented and is also included as a simple melody to give greater freedom of choice.
Solo Options:
Flute / Bb Clarinet / Altosax
