Like the previous volume, also this volume of the Songbook contains songs about love, the only difference being a certain note of nostalgia. The reason for this feeling is that the songs collected here describe love which sometimes passes. The poet had that experience. Many of the songs were performed by the composer himself. This fact does not mean, however, that only men may sing them as they really have a womans soul and only a slight formal correction is needed for them to enter the repertory of singing women. [A.
