In the Mist was written whilst I was a Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center in the summer of 2008. I had the opportunity to work with the poet Lloyd Schwartz, setting one of his existing poems to music. The piece was written for Samuel Reade Levine (Tenor) and Tatiana Vassilieva (Piano), and first performed by them in the Chamber Music Hall, Tanglewood, in July 2008.
