Preludio' versammelt 130 leichte und attraktive Vorspielstücke aus 6 Jahrhunderten und bietet damit die wichtigsten Stücke für den Gitarrenunterricht im Anfängerbereich in einem umfangreichen Band! Das Repertoire eignet sich bestens für erste Vorspiele an Musikschulen, als Literatur für Wettbewerbe und Prüfungen oder einfach als 'Fundgrube' für Lehrer, Schüler und Gitarrenliebhaber.
Die Stücke sind so ausgewählt, dass sie etwa im 2. bis 4. Unterrichtsjahr spielbar sind. Das Repertoire ist chronologisch in fünf Kapitel unterteilt und innerhalb dieser nach Schwierigkeit progressiv geordnet. Jedes Kapitel bezieht sich auf eine Epoche: Renaissance - Barock - Klassik - Romantik und frühes 20. Jahrhundert - Moderne, Pop und Weltmusik. So ergibt sich ein Spielheft, das bereits während bzw. unmittelbar im Anschluss an jede Gitarrenschule verwendet werden kann.
Die meisten Stücke sind in der 1. und 2. Lage spielbar und kommen ohne Barré-Spiel und Bindungen aus. Am Ende der jeweiligen Kapitel stehen die etwas schwierigeren Stücke, die dann schon kleine und große Barré-Griffe sowie Lagenspiel verlangen.
Es handelt sich zum Großteil um Originalstücke und von einschneidenden Vereinfachungen wurde abgesehen. Lediglich einzelne schwierige Stellen wurden alternativ leichter gestaltet, damit die Schwierigkeit innerhalb eines Stückes nicht zu stark variiert.
