Friedrich Burgmüller (1806 - 1874) was a German pianist and composer. Most of his life however he lived and worked in Paris (France). His music can generally be described as light-hearted. His music for the ballet 'La Péri' is considered the highlight from his repertoire. Today, Burgmüller is mainly known for his piano compositions. His 25 easy studies op. 100 are very famous and popular among piano students and teachers. These studies are standard repertoire and study material for all beginning pianists.
