Beschreibung:
Solo piano improvisations, transcribed by Bill Dobbins.

Clare Fischer has been, up to now, the best kept secret in the world of jazz and creative contemporary music. Although his work as pianist and arranger for the legendary vocal group, the Hi Los, during the late 1950s was acknowledged by Herbie Hancock as a major influence on his harmonic development, Clare's unique body of work has remained largely unknown to the musical public, especially in America. He is the musician's musician personified, and his harmonic skills have influenced many musicians who are seen frequently on television and on the covers of the most influential music magazines.
Some may know of Clare Fischer through his compositions Pensativa and Morning, which have become jazz standards. Others may be aware of his arrangements for such pop figures as Prince, Natalie Cole and Robert Palmer. A major aim in the creation of this collection of transcriptions, selected from his very best solo piano recordings, is to document a part of Clare's unique musical output in a medium through which it can be enjoyed and appreciated by both professional and amateur musicians throughout the world.
