The title refers to verses 38/39 from "Endymion" by John Keats, where the handsome youth is kissed by the moon goddess Selene while he sleeps. The piece is dedicated to the composer's eldest brother, Michael, who passed away in 2020. During the final weeks before his passing, he witnessed the composition process via FaceTime and, in the eleventh hour, had the chance to hear the final outcome.
