Aram Chatschaturjan: Vom berühmten Säbeltanz zu vielfältigen musikalischen Schätzen – Noten entdecken
Aram Chatschaturjan, auch in der Schreibweise Khatschaturian / Khatschaturjan (*6. Juni 1903 in Tiflis, † 1. Mai 1978 in Moskau), war ein armenischer Komponist, der aufgrund der damaligen Zugehörigkeit Armeniens zur UdSSR dem sowjetischen Kulturgut zugerechnet wird. Nichtsdestotrotz ist Chatschaturjans Musik stark von der armenisch-georgischen und kaukasischen Volksmusik geprägt.
Chatschaturjans unverwechselbarer Stil entführt bereits Kinder im Klavierunterricht in eine farbenreiche, aufregend fremde und doch wohlklingende Welt, die selbst für Anfänger leicht zu erreichen ist. Hier sei beispielsweise das Andantino, auch bekannt als »Iwan singt« aus dem Kinderalbum Band 1: Bilder der Kindheit, erwähnt: Eine einfache Melodie in Moll unter Auslassung der siebten Stufe in der rechten Hand (hier bleibt die Zugehörigkeit zu einer bestimmten Moll-Familien offen), chromatisch absteigende Terzen unter Alterierung der zweiten Stufe um einen Halbton abwärts in der linken Hand lassen einen das gewohnte Kategorisieren in Dur und Moll, ›fröhlich‹ und ›ernst‹ als relativ erscheinen, vielmehr lernt man eine harmonische Zwischenwelt kennen, die sicherlich stark von der osteuropäischen Melodik geprägt ist, aber auch Anklänge des französischen Impressionismus' erkennen lässt und Raum zum Fantasieren und Interpretieren schafft.
14 weitere Klavierwerke, drei Ballette, 13 Orchestersuiten und sieben weitere Orchesterwerke (Märsche), 11 Sinfonien, sechs Konzerte für Orchester und Soloinstrument, 13 kammermusikalische Kompositionen, 34 Lieder, 6 Chorwerke sowie weitere sieben Kompositionen für Chor oder Singstimme und Orchester umfassen das Œuvre Chatschaturjans. Hinzu kommen 32 Schauspiel- und Filmmusiken.
Damit nicht genug wurden einige seiner Melodien aus verschiedenen Werken extrahiert und für Kinofilme, Fernsehserien (das Adagio, ein Pas des deux zwischen Spartakus und Phrygia aus dem dritten Akt des Balletts Spartakus, wurde Titelmusik der britischen Serie Die Onedin-Linie) und Werbeclips verwendet.
Das alles macht Chatschaturjan ohne Frage zum bedeutendsten Komponisten Armeniens des 20. Jahrhunderts.
