Noten von Béla Bartók - Ungarischer Komponist der Moderne
Béla Bartók (*25. März 1881 in Groß-Sankt-Nikolaus/Nagyszentmiklós, † 26. September 1945 in New York) stammt aus dem damaligen Königreich Ungarn (Österreich-Ungarn), und erhielt seinen ersten Klavier- und Kompositionsunterricht in Pressburg (Slowakei) im Alter von 12 Jahren. In diesen Fächern studierte Bártok schließlich auch in Budapest und erlangte als Komponist der Moderne, Pianist und Musikethnologe europäische Bekannheit.
Im Gegensatz zu seinen zeitgenössischen Kollegen wie Arnold Schönberg oder Anton Webern, die sich nur kurz mit dem Stil der Spätromantik beschäftigten und sich dann zu Vertreter der musikalischen Avantgarde und Grundsteinleger der Seriellen- und Zwölftonmusik entwickelten, griff Bartók die Elemente der Musikmoderne zwar auf (wie beispielsweise die Verwendung aller 12 Töne), ließ aber deutlich seine Wurzeln durchschimmern, indem er die Stilistik der Volksmusik Ungarns in seine Kompositionen mit einfließen ließ.
Bartóks Œuvre bedient nahezu alle musikalischen Genres, vom einfachen Kunstlied bis hin zu abendfüllenden Bühnenwerken — herauszuheben seien hier natürlich seine Klavierwerke (Bartók war ein hervorragender Pianist und hatte eine Professur für Klavier in Budapest inne) und sein kammermusikalisches Schaffen; seine Streichquartette gelten als die besten ihrer Gattung, die das 20. Jahrhundert hervorgebracht hat.
Weiters machte sich Béla Bartók durch sein didaktisches Werk einen über seinen Tod hinaus unsterblichen Namen. Er verstand es, Violin-Etüden auf spieltechnisch leichtem Niveau so zu komponieren, dass sie aufgeführt musikalisch mit schwerer Konzertliteratur mühelos mithalten konnten. Aber natürlich komponierte Bartók auch Noten für Violine oder Violine und Klavier als reines Aufführungsmaterial.
Sein 153 Stücke umfassender Mikrokosmos gehört bis heute zur Standard-Unterrichtsliteratur in der Klavierpädagogik. Progressiv geordnet werden die im Klavierspiel zu Unterrichtenden sukzessiv von leichten Stücken für Anfänger an die schwere Literatur für fortgeschrittene Pianisten herangeführt.
