Der Verlag Casa Ricordi wurde 1808 in Mailand von Giovanni Ricordi gegründet und entwickelte sich schnell zum wichtigsten Verleger italienischer Opernkomponisten. Namen wie Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Gioachino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini und Gaetano Donizetti sind untrennbar mit Ricordi verbunden. Der Verlag sicherte sich durch kluge Verträge und den Erwerb des Archivs der Mailänder Scala eine führende Marktposition.Heute gehört Ricordi zu Universal Music Publishing Classical und repräsentiert ein riesiges Repertoire, das von den großen Opernklassikern bis hin zu modernen und zeitgenössischen Werken reicht.
