The 2nd movement from 'Winter' features a Piccolo solo which highlights the warm (and often neglected) timbre of the mid register.

The most varied movement of the three, this piece allows great contrast of colour, texture and articulation and each of the insruments has plenty to get their (chattering) teeth into!
