CONCERT OVERTURE is a 12-minute work for small orchestra. Sibelius conducted the premiere performance in Turku, Finland on 7 April, 1900. The work has not been performed since the first years of the 20th century. Concert Overture has its origins in stage work 'Jungfrun i tornet', and is in a way hidden inside of the stage music. Conductor and scholar Tuomas Hannikainen discovered the existence of the overture during his research in 2019. He has edited and reconstructed the work.
