Beschreibung:
This well-known piece is based on a chorale by Johann Schop first published in 1642. Included by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) as the 10th and final section of his cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben, BWV 147, he transformed Schop's work into a four-part choral composition, devising an obligato melody that has become one of his most recognizable pieces. This edition has been completed by internationally renowned and awarded conductor Sir Neville Marriner, founder of St. Martin in the Fields. Instrumentation: 0.2.0.1: 0.0.0.0: Org: Str (2-2-2-1-1 in set).
